Devinder

Devinder Soor is a Realism artist who specializes in Illustration, Graphic Design, and Soft Sculpture. She graduated from the OCAD University in Toronto, Ontario in the field of Illustration and Advertising Design. She also has a Certificate in Montessori Studies from Western Montessori Teachers’ College in Bragg Creek, Alberta. 

She has over eight years of experience teaching Montessori and bringing the art curriculum into the environment. As an Art Specialist she has prepared and developed a right and left brain immersion classroom environment to encourage and promote children’s creativity, logic, and realistic interpretation skills. History of Art has been the key factor in her classrooms as she presented different art techniques inspired by the works of The Great Masters of Art. Her students explored color theory, paper making and molding, soap making, stained glass windows, Venetian masks, felting, Pointillism, mosaics, mixed media, and more. 

She is currently working on a series of paintings of ladies adorned in period costumes using watercolors, Sketch Copic markers, and colored pencils. Devinder works at Art N’ Smart Academy where she inspires children to create and express their artistic voice, just as she has done in her work and teaching.
